Student Leadership
We feel it is important for our young people to feel empowered and have a say in how they feel aspects of the academy should be run. Therefore, we offer are a wide range of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.
These include:
- Head Boy and Head Girl
- Senior student team (Deputy Head Boy/Girl, Senior prefects)
- Academy Parliament
- Anti Bullying and Cyber Ambassadors
- House captains
At Oasis Academy Sholing we understand that having that chance to feel heard by your peers and by our staff, being able to take part in special school activities and that finding your voice among the crowd is life changing for some.
Therefore we give all of our pupils the chance to be a part of the student leadership team, and to be involved in all events across the year. Students are given opportunities to share their voice and views both through the Academy Parliament, half termly student voice surveys, small group feedback sessions with HOY, and on a larger scale, through our yearly involvement with the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign.
Our student leaders have also taken charge of a number of fundraising activities this year. We are very pleased to have been able to support the following charities over the past 18 months.
