Students learn how to be 'Money Smart' with MyBnk.
On Wednesday 5th February, students at Oasis Academy Sholing were invited to take part in a workshop with financial charity MyBnk. The 'Money Smart' course is designed specifically for visually impaired young people and funded by the Thomas Pocklington Trust.
The 4 hour session involved a variety of fun and informative tasks including; banking, savings, jobs, salaries, access to work, tax, budgeting, shopping, pensions, fraud and scams.
MyBnk work with young people aged between 7-25 across the UK empowering them to take charge of their future. Their experts help to build young people’s money knowledge, skills, mindsets and habits.
Our students really enjoyed the session, which provided them with some excellent tools for the future. The students were particularly pleased to learn they can begin working and earning money from the age of 13.
We would like to thank Rebecca Bartlett from MyBnk for join us on the day and sharing her knowledge and experience with our students.
